Dear Residents
Please remember our Annual General Meeting on the 25th June 2019 at 1845 for 1900 at Benoni Lake Club.
Audited Financials are available to contributing members – please just send in a request – full presentation of details on the night.
Attached is a nomination form for Committee members to serve in the coming year – please feel free to nominate yourself or someone you think is suitable. Remember they MUST be contributors of at least 6 months in standing; they must be able to attend at least 60% of Committee meetings which are held once monthly and commit to the work allocated to them.
We also need new blood in Directors, however you must serve at least two years on Committee before you can be a Director.
It is June and chilly out there so we want matters to go ahead as quickly as possible. In the interests of a” to the point” meeting please submit your questions to us timeously so that the correct responsible person can attend to a full detailed response.
Lakewest Residents Association
Dear Residents
Many
thanks to those of you who made time to come to the Residents meeting
on Tuesday evening. A particular thanks to those who volunteered to
start paying; sponsor new initiatives and sponsor Sher Gate!
A very lively discussion ensued and there are lots of ideas the Committee will look into – further info will be forthcoming shortly. We have two new volunteers too for the Committee and a couple of folk who will help out where they can – always a great way to get Community together.
Please
do review all the attached docs so you are up to date with that is
currently happening. Specially sent to you on Friday so you have the
whole weekend to review them all!) You will receive two mails as the
presentation with history and background is quite a large attachment.
Thank you for your patience.
If you
have any great ideas to add – please send us a mail detailing exactly
what you suggest – bearing in mind – we do not own the streets of LWRA
and have to abide by the laws and by laws of the Country and the
Council. Many suggestions were received that we have investigated over
the years but most we know go against our agreement with Council or
Council have turned down our requests.
But we will continue to do our best.
We
look forward to bringing you more news in the near future. Our AGM
will be in April this year – we will give you plenty of time and warning
– please make an effort to be there this year so we can vote on new
ideas and get them implemented!
Dear Residents
We
have such exciting news to share with you – please read the
Announcement first then the details of what ANPR is all about (both documents in the documents list bellow). We spent
the whole of last year investigating this to ensure we can give you the
best deal available.
Just to give you an example of what the ANPR is capable of we would like to share a short story of our experiment in December.
The Committee installed upgraded cameras at the Sunny Road boom late in November that are capable of working with the Syntel system. These cameras are very hi-tech and capable of gathering much more info that our current cameras can
Syntel very kindly loaned us their system for a trial period over December and connected it to the new cameras
During
this trial period a young man was followed into our area by a few
hooligans from the far East Rand. They knew we had cameras etc so put
their lights on bright in order to blur the images we would normally
recover, and then proceeded to beat this young badly
The guard had called for backup and being the cowards they are – they fled the scene!
Fortunately
our new system recorded the details and we were able to give the
victims and SAPS excellent info of registration and face recognition =
we were informed recently that two arrests have now been made!
Please
do consider being a sponsor or donor – we can give you a full tax
deductible invoice for advertising or sponsorship which you can use at
your discretion.
Level Seven will be our Fibre provider and have offered LWRA a special rate plus a commission to LWRA – if we get enough support from Residents it will assist us with monthly overheads related to the new system. – please see form (in the document list below) to complete and send back to us and Scott in order for us to arrange. scottymeredith001@gmail.com
Thank you
LWRA Chairman and Committee
Dear Residents
Many thanks to those of you who supported us last Tuesday night! We also thank everyone who continues to support us with their monthly contributions.
As
you will see from the attached minutes – we are now looking at
Proactive solutions to stop crime before it happens- in the past we were
more reactive.
This, as always,
costs money- so please do continue to support us – we know times are
tough – if you are having any financial difficulties feel free to
contact us to find a solution – we much rather have you on board than
not at all.
Some of our new
innovations might be confusing if you were not at the meeting – do feel
free to contact with any queries and concerns you have – along with any
positive solutions. If you do have a comment to make reply to this
email address so that we can direct your concern to the relevant person.
(Our Committee this past year has had some lovely young new blood who are implementing lots of clever new ideas!)
If
you are not yet a contributor – please do go to our web page for a
full overview of what LWRA is and does – there is an application on the
web you can complete and join our community!
Kind regards
The Chair, Directors and Committee
We’d like to congratulate Muhammed, Anisa and Rufaidah Rawat of LWRA for having won the stunning Umhlanga Sands holiday prize.
The draw was conducted at our Committee meeting in March by our Accountant who does not live in our area – thank you Aslam.
The prize is a week holiday for four at Umhlanga Sands resort which was donated by one of our active Community Families. We thank you.
Everyone who contributed an extra month during October to February was entered along with new signups from October to January.
We will allow 3 ads per category to start with - categories so far include but are not limited to :
Fist come first served with contributing residents getting first dibs of course (include your street address and account number with LWRA).
If you have a web page supply the link so that people who are keen can click on your link to get info - LWRA will take no responsibility for replying to queries on your behalf. Ads must be short and to the point.
